I’ve done Mundane Musings on Friday for the most part, sometimes Saturday if I’ve been a little lazy. Now it’s time to do one a day early, because I know I will not be reaching for my computer for the rest of the weekend. Why is that? A great friend of mine from Dublin is coming down to visit! Well, technically, she’s from Chicago, but I met her during my time in Ireland. She still lives there and I’ve been back to visit her twice since I moved away. This weekend, she’ll trade in rain and clouds for a little Costa del Sol, and I’m so excited to show her the area. I can promise there’ll be a visit to the top of the Rock of Gibraltar, but we also have some new activities planned.
In the meantime, with some intense heat in our forecast, I’ve prepared a list of things that have me in the mood for beach parties and sunshine. Oh, and Happy Anniversary to my wonderful parents (a day late)! I think my sister put it best when she said that we have great role models.
I have a slight obsession with Kendi Everyday, a fashion blog I follow pretty regularly. For one, her shop, Bloom, is located in downtown McKinney…next time I’m home, I may just have to stop in a tell her how much I love her site and clothes! Two, I love her sense of style and the places she shops. There is a fair share of Target and Gap in her wardrobe – she’s completely relatable, since many fashion bloggers tend to where stuff that have ridiculous price tags! This is just one look that screams summer, thanks to the bright colors.
I wish I had an entertaining tray like this one for summer. The pink flamingos and glitter are perfect for summer entertaining! Check out more entertaining ideas and recipes at Cupcakes and Cashmere, another blog favorite of mine.
This fashion blog was found thanks to my love of Pinterest. I’m a little apprehensive about buying long skirts, mainly because I have short legs. Yes, I am tall, but that is thanks to my torso – when I sit upright at a table next to Matt, I’m “taller” than him, so there’s that. I’m afraid a long skirt would just look silly on me, but then I see styles like this and think, “wow, I’m missing out!” How do you feel about maxi skirts?
Just a little something to spice up your Thursday! I’ll see you cool kids on Monday…
