A Much Needed Visit

With Lauren and Carrie on a girl's night!

I’m sorry I’ve been such a bad little blogger. March came on strong and things have been full steam ahead over here on the Emerald Isle. Emily’s European adventures have slowed down a bit, and for this working gal, life has a little more rhythm now than it did the last few months. That’s not to say it’s become mundane, and it will certainly pick up the pace in the months to come.

My adventures lately have included a bevy of girl’s nights, hard work with Suas, and a lot of time spent with Matt at the end of the working day. I have so much to look forward to in March and the months after, and there is so much to do to prepare. My parents will be here next Friday, less than a week away! I have been so excited about this and have told pretty much anyone who’s willing to listen what I have planned for their trip. Tomorrow, Matt and I are going shopping for some things we’ve really needed in the apartment, but have been too lazy to get. I really need a spice rack for the kitchen, especially since I’m cooking more and the spice cabinet is becoming way too crowded (I was attacked by oregano last night). We also need a coat rack. Right now, Matt and I hang our coats up in the closet, but it would be so much more efficient to have a coat rack by the door. With my parents coming, the coats will double in quantity, so I think this is a must on our list.

I told you - that, on the floor, would be the oregano that attacked me.

This week will entail a lot of cleaning and preparing, with my excitement growing every day. I promise to check in often, though, because I’m craving my blog space. There are certainly new experiences and thoughts I have about my time here that I want to share; to name a few, this new and improved weather, the giant shamrock I’ll be wearing on Tuesday, and the littlest things that are making Dublin start to feel more like home. With the 6 Nations Championship going on right now, I find myself getting into rugby for the first time in my life, and I actually care when Ireland plays! It’s crazy to think that 8 months ago I was so nervous, excited, and scared, and now I look around and don’t feel like a stranger in Ireland.
