Summertime and the Living’s Easy

Boooooo!!! I'm not ready for autumn! Although, this is still a pretty nifty idea...

Why are people in such a rush for the autumn season to arrive? Everywhere I turn on the internet, people are talking about fall, posting about fall, or preparing for the recipes and holidays attributed to the season. This observation I’ve made may have something to do with my newfound obsession with Pinterest, where I’m seeing most of these exclamations for this brisk time of year. And sure, autumn excites me because my birthday is situated right in the heart of it. But come on! August JUST ended. Can’t we enjoy a few more weeks of sunshine, blistering temperatures, and the far-off sounds of ice cream trucks? Pretty please? I’ve just spent the past year of my life in a place where the temperature only makes it into the 70’s every once in awhile, so I don’t think this is too much to ask. 🙂

In honor of summer ~

So nautical.

Beach Hat – now this makes me think of summer!

Peach shorts, white top, brightly painted nails – definitely summertime.

I think this one is self-explanatory…

Come back and ask me how I feel about autumn in October. 😉

  1. door knobs & bruises

i love your blog! i accidentally found it and oh so glad i did! i for one do have to admit i am yearning for fall. but, i am not living in europe where it is beautiful even when it is hot in the summer! i live in alabama. where it is hot, humid and hard to breath in the summer. i love the fall but, even in september, it is not yet fall here. so, i wait. until most likely november and pray that by thanksgiving we will be feeling the brisk air that i miss so terribly. i look forward to reading more!

  2. So glad that you found me and are reading! 🙂 I’m originally from Texas and spent the summer there and oh boy, do I feel your pain! It gets so hot that just the jog from your car to the next air conditioned location can seem long! However, Ireland’s rain and cooler temperatures took it’s toll, and I’m basking in the hot summer sun as long as I can, haha!
